They made their humongous pyramids out of blocks of heavy limestone. Each block of limestone weighed about 2 tons each! They had thousands and thousands of blocks of limestone in each pyramid. Archeologists today still stare in awe at the ancient structures. The NileRiver was the most important resource in ancient Egypt. They used it daily for many different things. The ancient Egyptians couldn’t live without the precious Nile. They used it to bathe in, to fish in, it was their main drinking source, and they used it to travel to. The pharaohs in ancient Egypt were just like kings and queens. The Egyptians in ancient Egypt thought the pharaohs were gods on earth. They treated them like they were the last ruler on earth. One of the most famous pharaohs is King Tutankhamen (King Tut). The reason why he is so famous is because he is one of the only pharaohs that his tomb didn’t get broken into. Most of the pharaoh’s tombs in ancient Egypt got broken into. They also didn’t know how King Tutankhamen died. He had many broken bones and had a big hole in his head. He also died at a very young age; he died at the age of twenty. He also became pharaoh when he was only nine years old! It’s amazing what the pharaohs did back then! So we went from learning about the amazing sculptures we call pyramids to learning about the Egyptians precious Nile River. Last we were informed about the Egyptian gods on earth called pharaohs.
